Mod Manager

Search and install plugins and mods from Modrinth without leaving the panel. No more downloading jars by hand, checking whether they match your loader, and uploading them through the file manager.

What it does

Browse Modrinth from the server page. A search box, filters and the whole catalogue, right where your users already are.

Detects the server on its own. It reads the egg and the startup command to work out whether you are running Paper, Purpur, Forge, Fabric, NeoForge or Quilt, and which Minecraft version. The filters come pre-set to match, so the results are things that will actually run.

One click to install. Pick a version, press install, and the jar lands in /plugins or /mods depending on the server type.

Keeps track of what it installed. The Installed tab lists the jars in the folder and tells you which ones came from Modrinth, so you can update them later with one button.

Stable releases only. Alpha and beta builds are filtered out: they tend to break production servers. And the version dropdown only offers versions that have a stable download, so you never pick one and find there is nothing to install.

No client-only mods. Minimaps, shaders and similar do nothing on a server, so they never show up in the results. If someone reaches one through a direct link, the page says so before they install it.

Why your users will like it

Installing a mod used to mean leaving the panel, finding the right file among several similar ones, guessing whether it matched the loader, downloading it, coming back and uploading it. That is five steps and two chances to get it wrong.

This turns it into: search, click, done.

For hosting providers it also cuts down support tickets. Most "my server won't start" messages after a mod install come from a jar built for the wrong loader or Minecraft version, and this makes that mistake much harder to make.

Fifteen languages

English, Spanish, German, French, Portuguese, Russian, Chinese, Arabic, Bengali, Hindi, Indonesian, Kannada, Swedish, Turkish and Vietnamese.

It follows the panel language automatically. If a key is missing in some language it falls back to English rather than showing a blank.

Details worth knowing

Bedrock servers are not supported and the extension says so plainly instead of showing an empty list. Bedrock does not use this kind of plugin.

Hybrid servers (Mohist, Arclight and similar) are detected as such, and you can switch the filter between plugins and mods.

Nothing is stored outside the server. The jar goes straight into the server's own folder through Wings, and a small manifest file keeps note of what came from where.

Requirements

  • Reviactyl canary
  • The file.create permission (subusers without it do not see the tab)
  • Outbound access to api.modrinth.com from the panel

Install

php artisan extensions:install mod-manager.rext
php artisan extensions:enable mod-manager
php artisan optimize:clear

A Plugins and mods entry appears in the server sidebar.
